BMW and MINI servicing

Full and interim servicing to BMW and MINI schedules, using oils and parts that meet the manufacturer's own approvals, with your digital service record updated with BMW and MINI directly at the end of the job. The same work on Audi, Volkswagen, Skoda, SEAT and Mercedes.

Why does my BMW not have a fixed service interval?

Because it works it out for itself. BMW and MINI use condition based servicing: the car monitors how it has actually been driven and calculates when the oil, filters, brake fluid, plugs and the rest are genuinely due, rather than applying the same interval to a car doing short cold runs and one doing motorway miles.

It also specifies oil by manufacturer approval rather than by viscosity. An oil that looks like the right grade on the bottle is not necessarily an oil BMW has approved for that engine, and on some engines that distinction has consequences.

This is why a flat annual service does not map onto a BMW properly, and how a car arrives with a full service book and is still overdue on the items that actually matter.

Will servicing here affect my warranty?

Servicing at an independent garage, to the manufacturer's schedule and with parts of matching quality, does not in itself invalidate a manufacturer warranty. That is the basis on which independents are able to service cars still in warranty at all.

Two practical points. The record needs to be properly kept, which is why we update the digital service record with BMW and MINI directly rather than stamping a book. And warranty terms vary, particularly on extended and third party policies, so check the wording of yours. If you tell us what cover the car has, we will work to it.

What is a digital service record and why does it matter?

On a modern BMW or MINI the service history is held by the manufacturer electronically rather than written into a book in the glovebox. A missing entry cannot be reconstructed afterwards by producing an invoice.

It matters at two moments: while the car is under any manufacturer or extended cover, and at resale, when a buyer or a dealer checks the electronic record rather than the paperwork in the folder. We update it at the end of the job, as part of the service, not as an extra.

What is actually included?

What the car's own schedule calls for at that point, which is why we check the car before quoting rather than selling a fixed package. Typically that covers:

  • Engine oil to the correct manufacturer approval, and filter
  • Air, fuel and cabin filters as the schedule calls for them
  • Brake fluid on its own interval, which is time based rather than mileage based
  • Spark plugs on petrol engines at their interval
  • A full inspection, with anything found reported before it is actioned
  • The digital service record updated with BMW or MINI

Do you only service BMW and MINI?

No. Audi, Volkswagen, Skoda, SEAT and Mercedes are routine work here, to the same standard and on the same equipment. Specialising in BMW and MINI is about depth rather than restriction, and a household running a 3 Series and a Golf does not need two garages or two sets of records.

Where are you, and how do I book?

Unit B2, Fram Enterprise Centre, Heol-Y-Sarn, Edwards Business Parc, CF72 8QZ, a few minutes from Talbot Green and Llantrisant and a straightforward run from Cardiff, Pontypridd and Bridgend. Call or message us with the car's registration and we will tell you what it is due.

Two taps and it opens WhatsApp with the message written. We read it on the phone in the workshop.
